Depending on what type of Topless Bar you are in, there will usually be either a jukebox or a d.j. playing music. For dancers to dance they have to have music, but depending on the type of bar, there are some things you need to remember.
If the club you are in has a jukebox, you will probably have waitresses asking you for money to keep it going. DON’T DO IT! Trust me when I tell you that the jukebox will play whether you give them a buck or not. It has too. This tactic is to keep the bar from having to pay for the music. It benefits no one but the bar owner. Generally, a lot of bars rent or rent to own jukeboxes, pool tables and the like. They have the jukebox placed in the bar, select new CDs every month or two, and then periodically the service guy comes in and takes the cash out. Half usually goes to the vendor, and half to the bar. At any rate, it simply doesn’t matter whether you pay for the music or not. It only depends on how much you like giving money away for nothing.
If the club you are in has a d.j., it is sometimes wise to tip him or her. Often times the d.j. know's a lot of the dancers. If you make friends with the d.j., you can sometimes get the inside deal on a particular dancer if you know how to ask discreetly. Another thing about d.j.s is that you can ask them to play a particular song for a dancer. Which leads me to another thing that applies to both jukeboxes and d.j.s.
Do not play the music you want to hear in a Topless bar. Most of the time, you will get on a dancers nerves, because she prefers to dance to a particular selection of songs. Your best bet is to get talkative to a dancer and find out what she wants played. Then she will either give you a buck or two to get it played, or you can be the “nice guy” and go play it for her. I’ve seen so many guys go play some old classic rock song that is slow, or play top 40 for a goth dancer. It just doesn’t work well. Avoid it!
